Early Life
Bennett was born on August 9, 1994, in Chicago, Illinois. He had six half siblings from his father and three siblings from his mother, Taesha, who he was raised by. His father Walter E. Bennett was away frequently due to his incarcerations. When Von was 11, his father died when he was shot. Von would pay tribute to his father in multiple songs, notably in the song “Exposing Me”.
After returning from jail, Von was charged with violating his probation. This would be just the beginning of a long series of legal problems for him. In 2014, he was charged with murdering one person and injuring another in a shooting incident. After a trial by jury, he was proven innocent.

Additionally, Mr. Bennett was not located at the scene, but arrived at a hospital shortly after the shooting, via private vehicle. The investigation into this incident remains open and very active.”
