Early Life
Bernard Franz Belfort was born in New York City’s Bronx borough to Jewish parents in 1962. His father, Max, and mother, Leah, were both accountants.
He was born and reared in Bayside, Queens. Between finishing high school and beginning university, Belfort and his closest childhood friend Elliot Loewenstern made $20,000 a year selling Italian ice from styrofoam coolers to beachgoers.
