Eddie Murphy was born on April 3, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York. He is the third and youngest child of Lillian (a telephone operator) and Charles Edward Murphy (a transit police officer). His siblings are Charlie Murphy (an actor), Vernon Lynch (alternative comedian), and Robert Elliott (a postal worker).
